This was our first time renting and visiting the Haliburton area. Although the weather wasn't great, we all had a great time. Very private, very relaxing, with all the amenities of home. Clean, spacious and beautiful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone.

Myself and my family along with my husbands parents and his sister and her family stayed at the Maplecrest for one week in August, 9 of us total. It was plenty of room. We are all neat freaks so when we arrived at the cottage we were very pleased with how clean and nicely kept the cottage was. It was actually more like a extremely nice house more than a cottage. My husband loves fishing and he really enjoyed it here, he caught 4 large pickeral over the week and pretty much caught them as soon as he put his fishing pole in the water. He was told about the good fishing spots by locals which was very close to the cottage. The swimming is good off the end of the dock but is over an adults head it is also weedy but you dont touch them when you are swimming. The cottage has central air which is nice for the hot days. The cottage is also quite private. Though the lot is on quite a hill and entry to the water would not be so easy for small children or elderly. The edge of the water is shallow but only for a very short bit, there is also no beach area for the kids to play at. I would recomend the cottage for families with older children who dont mind jumping off the end of the dock into deep water. The view from the cottage is beautiful and it has a large deck. We had a good time and the cottage had lots to do with the hotub, pool table, paddle boat, games and books, and the kids loved the water trampoline.
