It's a busy part of the lake at the weekend with lots of boating traffic.
The site was nice and shady for me, since I don't usually sit in the sun. The dock is perfect for sunbathing and there was lots of seating etc. outside.
We were disappointed that there was no sandy beach portion since we have a major-sandcastle builder in the family We were tempted to use the mountain of construction sand at the site next door but restrained ourselves. My 13-year-old granddaughter did build a mini-Inukshuk to compensate.
It was very quiet during the week and we were able to try tubing without worrying about running into other boats. It was great fun.
The cottage had lots of room for us although one family couldn't make it so it may have been a wee bit cramped if they had.
The roads to the cottage were a bit bumpy but we got used to them.
The ice-cream at the marina is excellent. We didn't get a chance to try the pizza since we BBQ'd every day and even cooked on the fire which was in a perfect location and we utilized it every evening except the one rainy one.
I loved the big harvest table. We ate there and played games in the evenings. There is certainly every imaginable type of game and amusement for inclement weather. We brought ours with us but could have left them at home since almost all the things we had were available there.
Haliburton is close enough that it wasn't any trouble to go in for groceries etc. as the need arose. It's a nice town. We also visited Bancroft on the rainy day, although the rain had stopped by the time we set out.
