We stayed there on the 9th , and it was awesome, the cottage is totally updated, the water is beautiful , fishing is awesome , caught atleast 7 small bass , and we almost at a 10 pound lake trout , but the line broke , weather was awesome all above 29 , and it only rained once for about 10 minutes , all in all a good stay

Great getaway with all the comforts of home

Our family had our annual get-together at Shillum. We had so much fun. From a new baby to grandparents, we were all very comfortable. The weather was great. The sunroom was the perfect family room. Lots of swimming, canoeing and kayaking. Beautiful sunsets. The owners were wonderful and responsive. Could maybe use a ladder on the dock for easy in-and-out of the water??

This was our first stay at Shillum and we would most definitely return. The cottage was cozy, clean and spacious. We loved the sunroom and dinner table facing the lake. The well treed lot provided much privacy and much appreciated shade at strategic places on the deck. There were friendly neighbours, beautiful sunsets, loons everyday,good swimming. We found everything so child friendly for our 3 year old. The water was shallow off the dock and we also made use of a little beach on the side. We wished the beach area were larger and perhaps with more of the sand cleared in the water. We also felt a ladder off the dock would be helpful. As well, we found the lake to be very motorized which often cut into the peacefulness of the environment. Our son on the other hand loved that aspect. So there is something here for everyone and I would highly recommend this beautiful cozy cottage.
