The cottage was beautiful, lots of room for everyone. The beach was perfect for small children as well as adults. We made good use of the paddle boat, canoe and kayak. The kids loved fishing off the dock, lots of fish to be caught (we put them back of course). Even the bugs were agreeable they did not come out until way past dinnertime. Our thanks to the owners for sharing this beautiful cottage with our family.

What an exceptional, clean, and well-appointed cottage. Plenty to do from dawn til dusk! Beautiful sunrise to start the day, swim, canoe, or sit on the private beach and tan. Great shallow beach walk-out for kids and dogs to play (and no weeds!)Lots of wildlife to photograph, or listen to the loons lovely call. If you're feeling energetic, play badminton or volleyball. Swim out to the Nautica Beach Deck for sun and fun. There is something here for everyone! We know, because we did it all and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - we were sad to leave. Our family had a great time,the beach was amazing and the children did not want to go home!! Wish the weather had been a little better,but overall I would go back again and again!! Plenty of room to relax and "get away" if needed. The pictures do not do it justice. We all LOVED it!!

My family and I just loved the South Bay Getaway, the cottage was absolutely beautiful, comfortable and totally spacious, we had 6 adults, 4 kids and 2 dogs and we never once felt crowded. The cottage is set on a beautiful lake that is quiet, has good fishing, swimming and there was always something to do even if it was to relax in the hammock. A definite must go back.

Pros:
1) The cottage is quite spacious making it perfect for larger families.
2) There are a number of fun cottage "toys" at your disposal (canoe, kayak, paddle boat). Don't forget to bring your own lifejackets, and possibly paddles depending on how picky you are about having one the right size. The kayak paddle is metal.
3) The cottage is on a fairly quiet bay, making for a restful visit.
4) This is a great cottage for people who do not want to live without the comforts of home (satellite TV, internet, full kitchen and laundry).
5) The owners are very friendly and relaxed. They made sure we knew we could contact them with any concerns.

Cons:
1) The mattresses are very firm and most of the people in my family did not sleep well during our stay.
2) The bay is very shallow and packed densely with weeds - so much so that no one in my family wanted to swim. I tried swimming a few times but quickly tired of the weeds. I recommend renting early in the summer when the water level is higher and the weeds aren't quite so tall.
3) As is true for many other cottages, the neighbours are very close by and there isn't much privacy. We did not find this to be a major issue during our stay.
